Its 2189,  Scientist have discovered a way of transfering 'life' between humans, enabling those who don't want to go on living a way to gift their lives to those who are dying.

 

Because of this suicide is illegal. Jamie doesn't care, he wants to die and does exactly that.. until he is arrested.

He is detained in the Lazerous Center until he is deemed mentally well enough to die.

While there he meets Alice, a beautiful free spirit who gives him something to live for... until he finds out she is dying and is waiting for a donor life, his life.
